This antibody was generated by immunizing mice with a synthetic peptide sequence corresponding to residues 1114-1126 GNLPESRIEGWLS of human ROCK-1. Immunogen peptide sequence is adjacent to the caspase-3 cleavage site of ROCK-1. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Chimpanzee, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Elephant, Bovine, Dog, Bat, Horse, Opossum, Platypus (100%); Rabbit (92%); Chicken (85%).

Specificity
This mAb recognizes the cleaved C-terminus of ROCK-1. It does not recognize the full-length protein. Since ROCK-1 is cleaved by caspase-3 during apoptosis, this may be used for detection of apoptosis.

About Rho Kinase / ROCK1
Protein kinase which is a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton and cell polarity. Involved in regulation of smooth muscle contraction, actin cytoskeleton organization, stress fiber and focal adhesion formation, neurite retraction, cell adhesion and motility via phosphorylation of DAPK3, GFAP, LIMK1, LIMK2, MYL9/MLC2, PFN1 and PPP1R12A. Phosphorylates FHOD1 and acts synergistically with it to promote SRC-dependent non-apoptotic plasma membrane blebbing. Q13464 NM_005406 NP_005397.1
