  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

SDC1 / Syndecan 1 / CD138 antibody was raised against u266 cell line.
Recognizes a heparan sulfate rich membrane glycoprotein of approximately 200kD known as Syndecan-1 (CD138). Syndecan functions as a receptor for collagen, fibronectin and thrombospondin. Stains all plasma cells and plasma cell lines. No staining of other leucocytes is seen in peripheral blood or bone marrow, although some ALL cell lines express the antigen weakly.
The applications listed have been tested for the base form of this product. Alternate forms, such as conjugated, azide-free, or ready-to-use, have not been tested. Flow Cytometry: Use 10 ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in 100 ul. Method sheets are available on request.

Lyophilized, PBS, 0.09% sodium azide, 1% BSA.
100 tst Distilled Water.
Store undiluted at 4 degrees C. Do not freeze.

SDC1 / Syndecan 1 / CD138 is a transmembrane (type I) heparan sulfate proteoglycan and is a member of the syndecan proteoglycan family. The syndecans mediate cell binding, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal organization and syndecan receptors are required for internalization of the HIV-1 tat protein. The syndecan-1 protein functions as an integral membrane protein and participates in cell proliferation, cell migration and cell-matrix interactions via its receptor for extracellular matrix proteins.
