  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Histone H2B antibody was raised against ovalbumin-conjugated, synthetic peptide APAEAcKKPAAK-C corresponding to aa12-21 of yeast histone H2B with a C-terminal cysteine added for conjugation purposes.
Recognizes yeast acetyl-Histone H2B (Lys16), Mr ~15kD. Does not react with human.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Chromatin IP. Western Blot Analysis: 1:1000 dilution of this lot preferentially detects acetyl-histone H2B in wild-type yeast whole cell lysates as compared to lysates with a substitution mutant of K16R in histone H2B. Chromatin IP: An independent laboratory has shown that this antibody preferentially immunoprecipitates chromatin from wild type yeast, compared to yeast containing a histone H2B K16R substitution. This antibody was tested using S. cerevisiae, RPD3D strain. It has not been tested for cross-reactivity with S. pombe.

30% glycerol, 0.01% Thimerosal.
Long term: -20°C; Short term: +4°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only.

About Histone H2B

Histone H2B is one of the 5 main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N terminal tail H2B is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure.
