Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

CD53 antibody was raised against rat T cell blasts.
Recognizes the rat CD53 cell surface antigen, a 43kD glycoprotein, which is a member of the transmembrane 4 super family. It is expressed by all myeloid and peripheral lymphoid cells, and by a small subset of thymocytes. Recognizes a conformational epitope that is dependent on disulphide bonding.
Flow Cytometry: Use 10 ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in 100ul. Immunohistochemistry: This product requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e. g. trypsin or pronase. This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.

Packaging

CD53 is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins.
