Isolated from human prostatic carcinoma.
Specificity
Immunohistochemical studies have shown that the presence of prostate specific antigen (PSA) is highly specific and, in some instances, more sensitive than prostatic acid phosphatase for demonstration of the prostatic origin of a malignancy. Antisera directed against PSA have shown to be valuable reagents for the positive identification of primary and metastatic prostatic carcinoma. This monoclonal antibody is highly specific for benign and malignant prostatic epithelium.
