Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Vimentin antibody was raised against purified vimentin from porcine eye lens.
Recognizes a 57-60kD protein, human Vimentin. Shows no cross-reactivity with other closely related intermediate filament proteins including desmin and GFAP. Species cross-reactivity: monkey, bovine, canine, feline, chicken and rat. Does not recognize mouse.
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Immunohistochemistry: 5-10 ug/ml; Can be used on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues with traditional high temperature, citrate buffer treatments. Prolonged formalin fixation can reduce antibody activity. Immunocytochemistry: 5-10 ug/ml. Positive control: Breast carcinoma tissue, colon, prostate, tonsil, tonsilar lymphoma, uterus and ureter.

Packaging

PBS, pH 7.2, 0.1% sodium azide.
+4°C or -20°C, Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

About Vimentin

P08670 NM_003380 NP_003371.2

VIM Antibody, Vimentin Antibody

Vimentin is a member of the intermediate filament family. Intermediate filamentents, along with microtubules and actin microfilaments, make up the cytoskeleton. The protein encoded by this gene is responsible for maintaining cell shape, integrity of the cytoplasm, and stabilizing cytoskeletal interactions. It is also involved in the immune response, and controls the transport of low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-derived cholesterol from a lysosome to the site of esterification.
