Specificity and Use
TNFRSF1B / TNFR2 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide KHFCNKTSDTVCAD from an internal region of mouse TNFR2 (NP_035740.2). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Mouse, Rat (100%); Hamster (86%).
Mouse TNFR2. The immunizing peptide represents part of a potential extracellular domain.
Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:8000. Western blot: Approx 55kD band observed in Mouse and Rat Spinal Cord lysates (calculated MW of 50.3kD according to Mouse NP_035740.2). Recommended concentration: 0.2-0.6 ug/ml.
Receptor with high affinity for TNFSF2/TNF-alpha and approximately 5-fold lower affinity for homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha. The TRAF1/TRAF2 complex recruits the apoptotic suppressors BIRC2 and BIRC3 to TNFRSF1B/TNFR2. This receptor mediates most of the metabolic effects of TNF-alpha. Isoform 2 blocks TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis, which suggests that it regulates TNF-alpha function by antagonizing its biological activity.
