THY1 / CD90 antibody was raised against rat Thy 1 antigen.
Recognizes the Thy-1.1 antigenic determinant which is a monomorphic determinant within rat strains but polymorphic in mice. Thus MRC-OX-7 reacts with Thy-1.1 mice egg. AKR strain, but not Thy-1.2 mice egg. CBA, BALB/c. Species cross-reactivity: Mouse and rat Thy1.1.
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Flow Cytometry. Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100. Use 10 ul to label 1E6 cells in 100ul. THY1 or CD90 is a 25–37 kDa heavily N-glycosylated, glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchored conserved cell surface protein with a single V-like immunoglobulin domain, originally discovered as a thymocyte antigen. Thy-1 can be used as a marker for a variety of stem cells and for the axonal processes of mature neurons.
