Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Western blot (1:1000)

Specificity and Use

SYN1 / Synapsin 1 antibody was raised against phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding the phosphoSer603 of synapsin I.
pSer603
Specific for ~78k synapsin I doublet protein phosphorylated at Ser603. Immunolabeling of the synapsin I band is blocked by a,-phosphatase treatment

SYN1 / Synapsin 1 is a member of the synapsin gene family. Synapsins encode neuronal phosphoproteins which associate with the cytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicles. Family members are characterized by common protein domains, and they are implicated in synaptogenesis and the modulation of neurotransmitter release, suggesting a potential role in several neuropsychiatric diseases. This member of the synapsin family plays a role in regulation of axonogenesis and synaptogenesis.

Western blot

Western blot
Western blot of rat cortex lysate showing specific immunolabeling of the ~78k synapsin I phosphorylated at Ser603 (Control). The phosphospecificity of this labeling is shown in the second lane (lambda-phosphatase: lambda phosphatase).

Western blot

Western blot
Western blot of rat brain lysate showing specific immunolabeling of the ~78k synapsin I phosphorylated at Ser603 (Control). The phosphospecificity of this labeling is shown in the second lane (lambda-phosphatase: l-Ptase). The blot is identical to the control except that it was incubated in l-Ptase (1200 units for 30 min) before being exposed to the Anti-Phospho-Ser603 synapsin I. The immunolabeling is completely eliminated by treatment with l-Ptase.
