A synthetic peptide, VLLSRKRRRQHGQC, corresponding to amino acid residues 1755-1767 of human Notch 1. This is the N-Terminus sequence of the cleaved N intracellular domain (NICD). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Hamster, Panda, Bovine, Dog, Horse (100%); Bat (92%); Opossum, Chicken, Trout, Stickleback (85%).

Specificity
Recognizes human NOTCH 1. Species cross-reactivity: mouse Notch constructs present in lysates of HEK 293 cells. Only the cleaved intracellular (activated) form (NICD) is detected. Species sequence homology: mouse and rat NOTCH 1-100%. The epitope is only exposed after gamma secretase cleavage and is not accessible in the uncleaved form. No reactivity is detected against mouse N2, N3 or N4.

Usage
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. ELISA: 1:10000-1:30000. Standard sandwich ELISA using IgG, H&L (HRP) Pab Gt xRb. and ABTS as a substrate for 30 minutes at RT. Western Blot: 1:250. Against recombinant mouse Notch constructs in 293 cells. An 80kD band corresponding to Notch 1.
