Specificity and Use
HTR1A / 5-HT1A Receptor antibody was raised against linear peptide corresponding to rat Serotonin receptor 1A (KLH).
Recognizes rat Serotonin receptor 1A. Species cross-reactivity: human.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 0.5 ug/ml detects Serotonin receptor 1A on 10 ug of rat brain tissue lysate. Immunohistochemistry: 1:400 detects Serotonin receptor 1A in normal human brain tissue.

G-protein coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). Also functions as a receptor for various drugs and psychoactive substances. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase.
