  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

CP / Ceruloplasmin antibody was raised against highly pure human ceruloplasmin.
Detects ceruloplasmin, a ~132kD metalloprotein that is secreted into the plasma by liver hepatocytes and activated monocytes/macrophages. Ceruloplasmin functions in copper transport, iron homeostasis, antioxidant defense, angiogenesis and coagulation. Deficiency in ceruloplasmin is termed aceruloplasminemia, an autosomal recessive disorder which leads to iron accumulation and tissue damage, in particular in the brain and visceral organs. Clinical features include retinal degeneration, diabetes mellitus and neurological disturbances. Elevated plasma ceruloplasmin has been shown to pose an increased risk in atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction.
The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

About CP / Ceruloplasmin

CP Antibody, Ceruloplasmin (ferroxidase) Antibody, Ceruloplasmin Antibody, CP-2 Antibody, Ferroxidase Antibody

Ceruloplasmin is a blue, copper-binding (6-7 atoms per molecule) glycoprotein. It has ferroxidase activity oxidizing Fe2+ to Fe3+ without releasing radical oxygen species. It is involved in iron transport across the cell membrane. Provides Cu2+ ions for the ascorbate-mediated deaminase degradation of the heparan sulfate chains of GPC1. May also play a role in fetal lung development or pulmonary antioxidant defense.
