Collagen Type II from adult human knee cartilage and bovine nasal cartilage. Collagen Type II was extensively purified by limited pepsin digestion and selective salt precipitation. This preparation results in a native conformation of the protein.

Recognizes Type II collagens. Species cross-reactivity: most mammals. Cross-reactivity with Type I, III, IV, V or VI collagens is negligible. Non-specific cross-reaction of anti-collagen antibodies with other human serum proteins or non-collagen extracellular matrix proteins is negligible.

Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. ABTS. Western Blot (Non-denaturing, non-dissociating): 1:2500-1:5000. Immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue sections): 1:25-1:100. Some class specific anti-collagens may be specific for three-dimensional epitopes which may result in diminished reactivity with denatured collagen or formalin- fixed, paraffin embedded tissues.
