Specificity and Use
CD95 / FAS antibody was raised against mouse FAS
The 15A7 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of BALB/c mouse splenocyte and thymocyte cell suspensions. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 ug per test. A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.

CD95 / FAS is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor contains a death domain. It has been shown to play a central role in the physiological regulation of programmed cell death, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various malignancies and diseases of the immune system. The interaction of this receptor with its ligand allows the formation of a death-inducing signaling complex that includes Fas-associated death domain protein (FADD), caspase 8, and caspase 10.
Staining of BALB/c thymocytes with 0.5 ug of Purified Mouse IgG1, K isotype control (open histogram) or 0.5 ug of Purified anti-mouse CD95 (15A7) (colored histogram) followed by FITC Anti-Mouse IgG. Total viable cells were used for analysis.
