Specificity and Use
CD95 / FAS antibody was raised against human Fas (CD95; APO-1).
Recognizes human Fas.
Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections): This product is an isotype-switch variant of the original clone. Since undesired side reactions in immunohistochemistry are minimal for IgG1 antibodies, this clone is especially useful for immunohistology on cryostat sections and on cytospin preparations . Note: Not suitable for stainings on paraffin sections. Flow Cytometry: 1:20. Functional Application: Induces apoptosis upon cross-linking .

CD95 / FAS is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor contains a death domain. It has been shown to play a central role in the physiological regulation of programmed cell death, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various malignancies and diseases of the immune system. The interaction of this receptor with its ligand allows the formation of a death-inducing signaling complex that includes Fas-associated death domain protein (FADD), caspase 8, and caspase 10.
