APP / Beta Amyloid Precursor antibody was raised against disaggregated paired helical filaments.
Neurofibrillary tangles (NFT) are made up of paired helical filaments and are a feature of Alzheimer's disease (AD). AHP564 recognizes NFT and degenerating plaque neurites in cases of AD, Down's Syndrome and normal aged individuals. AHP564 recognizes all NFT as well as paired helical filament-containing neurites.
Immunohistology: This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.
