T2R5 / TAS2R5

taste receptor, type 2, member 5

T2R5 / TAS2R5 is a bitter taste receptor; bitter taste receptors are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily and are specifically expressed by taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelia. Each of these apparently intronless taste receptor genes encodes a 7-transmembrane receptor protein, functioning as a bitter taste receptor. This gene is clustered with another 3 candidate taste receptor genes on chromosome 7 and is genetically linked to loci that influence bitter perception.

Gene Name: taste receptor, type 2, member 5
Family/Subfamily: GPCR , Taste
Synonyms: TAS2R5, T2R5, Taste receptor type 2 member 5

T2R5 / TAS2R5 Antibody - Staining LOVO cells by IF/ICC. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 min at 25°C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1:200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37°C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) Ab, diluted at 1/600, was used as the secondary antibody.
