NEK1

NIMA-related kinase 1

Phosphorylates serines and threonines, but also appears to possess tyrosine kinase activity. Implicated in the control of meiosis (By similarity). Involved in cilium assembly. In response to injury that includes DNA damage, NEK1 phosphorylates VDAC1 to limit mitochondrial cell death.

Gene Name: NIMA-related kinase 1
Family/Subfamily: Protein Kinase , NEK
Synonyms: NEK1, KAT, NIMA-related kinase 1, NY-REN-55, SRPS2, NimA-related protein kinase 1, KIAA1901
Target Sequences: AB067488 BAB67794.1 Q96PY6

NEK1 Antibody - Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with the primary antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma; HC = hepatocarcinoma.

NEK1 Antibody - Immunohistochemistry image at a dilution of 1:300 and staining in paraffin-embedded human adrenal gland tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0) . Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4 °C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
