Isotype Control
Isotype control antibodies are used to measure the level of non-specific background binding of primary antibodies to the tissues or cells. This non-specific binding is often the result of immunoglobulins binding non-specifically to Fc receptors present on the cell surface. Isotype controls are commonly used in flow cytometry experiments and in immunohistochemistry.
