Colligin 2 is a collagen-binding protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum that acts as a specific collagen chaperone. It is part of the serine protease inhibitor family. Colligin 2 is inducible by retinoic acid treatment and is suspected to play a role in retinoic acid-induced differentiation. It is a cell surface marker for tumor progression and malignacy.
