LY6/PLAUR domain containing 3

C4.4A is a structural homolog of the urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). It was originally identified as a metastasis-associated membrane protein in malignant urothelium. In literature IHC studies, staining has been observed in suprabasal keratinocytes of chronic wounds and the amniotic membrane of placenta. ISH analysis demonstrated expression in urothelium of the ureter. C4.4A expression has also been found to be upregulated in breast tumors when compare to normal breast tissue.
