Recommended applications: ELISA, Dot Blotting, etc. For biotin binding affinity test, the same amount of recombinant streptavidin-luciferase fusion protein and the commercial native streptavidin was used to coat 96-well plates, respectively. After addition of the same amount of serial-diluted biotin, the bound biotin was further probed with anti-biotin antibody prior to thoroughly washing. In this assay, the minimum amount of biotin bound to recombinant streptavidin-luciferase and commercial native streptavidin was very similar. For luminescence activity, the recombinant streptavidin-luciferase produces an appropriate 1.8 X 109 RLU (relative light unit) per microgram protein using the Renilla Lucifearse assay kit (Promega).
