Predicted Molecular Weight
The 170 amino acid recombinant protein has a predicted molecular mass of approximately 19.2 kD. The protein migrates at approximately 25 kD in DTT-reducing and non-reducing conditions by SDS-PAGE. The predicted N-terminal amino acid is Met.
Source Species
E. coli
Purification
Greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE
Usage Summary
Stock solutions can also be prepared at 50-100 µg/mL in sterile buffer (PBS, HPBS, DPBS, or EBSS) containing carrier protein such as 0.2-1% BSA or HSA.
Bio-Activity
The ED50 is 2 - 10 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity 1.0 - 5.0 x 10^5 units/mg, as determined by a dose-dependent stimulation of MCF-7 in the presence of 2 µg/mL heparin.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.01 ng/µg (determined by LAL method).
Presentation
20 mM Tris, pH 7.0, 1 mM EDTA, 100 mM NaCl, 10% Glycerol
Storage
Store unopened at -20°C for 3 months, or at -70°C for up to 6 months. Store diluted at -20°C to -70°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. For maximum results, quick spin vial prior to opening.
Restrictions
For research use only. Intended for use by laboratory professionals.
