GNAQ (G Protein Subunit Alpha Q) is a part of the trimeric G protein complex group of proteins that bind to G protein coupled receptors and activates signaling pathways. It has been implicated in vascular development and function, and somatic mutations in GNAQ lead to capillary malformations and angiomas in Sturge-Weber syndrome, uveal melanomas, and port-wine stains.
