This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of chicken lysozyme. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between chicken lysozyme and analogs was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between chicken lysozyme and all the analogs, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.
LS-F10130 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Chicken LYZ / Lysozyme in samples of Egg White, Plasma and Serum. It is based upon a Competitive EIA assay principle and can be used to detect levels of LYZ / Lysozyme as low as 14.876 nanograms per millilter.
All LSBio Custom kits have been predesigned and all necessary components, including antibodies and standards have been identified. Upon receiving a custom kit order, the kit will be assembled and quality control tested before being shipped out. Kit assembly and testing typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. In most cases the final kit is based on the Sandwich assay principle, with a few being Competitive EIA based. Specifications such as Range, Sensitivity, and Precision are defined upon completion. In the event that the custom kit cannot be successfully developed with 6 weeks of the order date, the customer will be notified and the order canceled at no cost.

Upon receipt of an order each kit is assembled and tested to ensure that it meets specifications before shipping. Minor changes may occur to the Range, Sensitivity, and Precision. In the event of a significant change the order would be confirmed with the customer before shipping. ELISA kit lot numbers reflect the date of final assembly and testing for each specific kit rather than a bulk manufactured lot. All kits are tested to confirm that they fall within their defined Inter- and Intra- assay coefficient of variation.

This assay employs the direct competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for lysozyme has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with biotin-conjugated lysozyme. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between lysozyme (Standards or samples) and biotin-conjugated lysozyme with the pre-coated lysozyme antibody. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of lysozyme bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
LYZ / Lysozyme is human lysozyme, whose natural substrate is the bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan (cleaving the beta[1-4]glycosidic linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine). Lysozyme is one of the antimicrobial agents found in human milk, and is also present in spleen, lung, kidney, white blood cells, plasma, saliva, and tears. The protein has antibacterial activity against a number of bacterial species.
