Human (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
VIP antibody was raised against synthetic human VIP (code 7161, Peninsula).
Immunogen: Synthetic human VIP. Tested on human, pig, rat and guinea-pig tissues. Positive control: Stefanini-fixed frozen sections of rat intestine. Absorption with 10 100 ug VIP per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining, while PHI does not.

VIP Antibody, PHM27 Antibody, Vasoactive intestinal peptide Antibody, VIP peptides AntibodyVIP belongs to the glucagon family. It stimulates myocardial contractility, causes vasodilation, increases glycogenolysis, lowers arterial blood pressure and relaxes the smooth muscle of trachea, stomach and gall bladder. The protein also acts as an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal activity. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
