Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

VCAM1 / CD106 antibody was raised against stromal cell line PA6.
Recognizes murine vascular adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM-1), a cell surface glycoprotein that is also known as CD106. CD106 is expressed predominantly on endothelial cells and expression is up-regulated during inflammation. The ligand for CD106 is the alpha 4 subunit (CD49d) of the integrin VLA-4 (CD49d/CD29). Clone MVCAM. A(429) is reported to partially block VCAM-1 mediated functions. XXX recommend the use of MCA2297EL for this purpose.
The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested. Flow Cytometry: Use 10 ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in 100 ul. Method sheets are available on request.

Packaging

PBS, pH 7.4, 0.09% sodium azide, 1% BSA.

Vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, VCAM-1, is a surface glycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium that mediates the adhesion of monocytes and lymphocytes. VCAM-1 and integrin alpha-4-beta-1 facilitate a critical cell-cell adhesion event required for survival of endothelial and mural cells during vascularization. Studies of heart development have shown that deficiencies of VCAM and in alpha-4 integrin also result in epicardial dissolution and subsequent myocardial thinning.
