Suitable for the detection of TACI expression in human and mouse cells by Western blot. Human spleen cells, Raw cells, or Daudi cells can be used as positive control. This antibody also can be used in flow cytometry. Western blot analysis of 0.1 ug/ml of TACI in 10 ug/lane of Daudi lysate. A protein band of approximately 32 kD is detected. TACI is one of three known receptors for BLys. Members in the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. Two novel members in the TNF family were recently identified and designated BAFF/BLyS/TALL-1/THANK/zTNF4 and April/TALL-2, respectively. BAFF was characterized as a B cell activator since it induced B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion. April regulates immunological and non-immunological cell growth.
