Specificity and Use
TIMP1 antibody was raised against recombinant corresponding to human Timp-1.
Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:50 for 30 min at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Western Blot: 1-2 ug/ml for 2 hr at RT.
PBS, pH 7.4, 0.2% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at 12 months.
Metalloproteinase inhibitor that functions by forming one to one complexes with target metalloproteinases, such as collagenases, and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Acts on MMP1, MMP2, MMP3, MMP7, MMP8, MMP9, MMP10, MMP11, MMP12, MMP13 and MMP16. Does not act on MMP14. Also functions as a growth factor that regulates cell differentiation, migration and cell death and activates cellular signaling cascades via CD63 and ITGB1.
