Specificity and Use
THY1 / CD90 antibody was raised against rat thymocyte Thy-1 antigen.
Anti-rat CD90 (Thy 1.1) monoclonal antibody recognizes the Thy 1.1 antigenic determinant on rat as well as mouse cells. This particular determinant has been defined to be monomorphic within rats but polymorphic in the mouse. The antibody reacts with Thy 1.
The applications listed have been tested for the unmodified form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.
THY1 or CD90 is a 25–37 kDa heavily N-glycosylated, glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchored conserved cell surface protein with a single V-like immunoglobulin domain, originally discovered as a thymocyte antigen. Thy-1 can be used as a marker for a variety of stem cells and for the axonal processes of mature neurons.
