Specificity and Use
TAC1 / Substance P antibody was raised against substance P conjugated to BSA.
Recognizes Substance P. Absorption with 10-100 ug SP and NKA per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining while Neurokinin A does not. Species cross-reactivity: Human, porcine, rat, mouse.
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Immunohistochemistry (paraffin and frozen sections): 1:400-1:800 using immunofluorescence microscopy, with overnight incubation at 4?C. Positive control: Frozen sections of rat colon.
Lyophilized powder. Reconstitute, 50-100 ul ddH2O or 40-50% glycerol for long-term storage. Dilute further in 0.1 M PBS, 1% BSA, 0.1% sodium azide.

TAC1 / Substance P is four products of the tachykinin peptide hormone family, substance P and neurokinin A, as well as the related peptides, neuropeptide K and neuropeptide gamma. These hormones are thought to function as neurotransmitters which interact with nerve receptors and smooth muscle cells. They are known to induce behavioral responses and function as vasodilators and secretagogues. Substance P is an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal properties.
