  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

TAC1 / Substance P antibody was raised against synthetic substance P conjugated to Keyhole limpet hemocyanin.
Recognizes human Protachykinin-1, also known as PPT. Protachykinin-1 is a 129 amino acid ~15kD tachychinin involved in the excitation of neurons. Protachykinin-1 can be cleaved into a number of chains including substance P, neurokinin A, neuropeptide K, neuropeptide gamma and c-terminal flanking peptide. Recognizes an epitope within the substance P region of the molecule. There are potentially four isoforms of Protachykinin-1 (alpha - delta) formed by alternative splicing, all containing the substance P peptide region. Stains substance P secreting cells of the external median eminence of the hypothalamus and specific cells of the GI tract. Also stains neuronal structures.
Immunohistology: 0.01 M Sodium Citrate buffer, pH6.0 is recommended for this purpose.

PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide.
+4°C or -20°C, Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

TAC1 / Substance P is four products of the tachykinin peptide hormone family, substance P and neurokinin A, as well as the related peptides, neuropeptide K and neuropeptide gamma. These hormones are thought to function as neurotransmitters which interact with nerve receptors and smooth muscle cells. They are known to induce behavioral responses and function as vasodilators and secretagogues. Substance P is an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal properties.
