  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

STRA6 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide QVWQKAECPQDPK from an internal region of human STRA6 (NP_033317.2). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Mouse (100%); Rat, Hamster, Bat (92%); Human, Chimpanzee, Gorilla, Orangutan, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Rabbit, Horse (85%).
LS-E27880 - Lyophilized - 100 µg - $145.00
Immunizing peptide used to generate LS-C155006. Useful for pre-absorption and neutralization of the antibody's antigen binding site.
Human STRA6. Reported variants represent identical protein: NP_033317.2, NP_001155947.1; NP_001155948.1; NP_001155951.1
Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:128000. Western blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 50kD band in Mouse Brain and Eye lysates after 0.01 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 73.7kD according to NP_033317.2. The 50kD band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Tris-buffered saline, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide

About STRA6

Q9BX79 NM_022369 NP_071764.3

STRA6 Antibody, MCOPCB8 Antibody, PP14296 Antibody, Stimulated by retinoic acid 6 Antibody, MCOPS9 Antibody

May act as a high-affinity cell-surface receptor for the complex retinol-retinol binding protein (RBP/RBP4). Acts by removing retinol from RBP/RBP4 and transports it across the plasma membrane, where it can be metabolized. This mechanism does not depend on endocytosis. Binds to RBP/RBP4 with high affinity. Increases cellular retinol uptake from the retinol-RBP complex.
