An 18 amino acid peptide sequence near the NH2-terminus of rat brain dopamine transporter coupled to KLH (1). This region is presumably the cytoplasmic domain.
Recognizes Dopamine transporter (DAT). Species cross-reactivity: Rat and mouse. Weakly reacts with human and canine.
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, and ELISA. Western Blot: 1-10 ug/ml using ECL. An antibody raised against a similar peptide has been shown to react with a broad 80kD band in rat striatum and not cerebellum. Rat DAT contains various carbohydrate moieties and neuraminidase and N-Glycanase treatment reduces its molecular weight to about 55kD. Immunoprecipitation: 2-10 ug. Immunohistochemistry: 2-10 ug/ml on frozen sections of tissues fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde. ELISA: 0.5-1.0 ug/ml using 1 ug/ml of DAT control peptide per well.
