Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to
worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting
immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.
TCR Screening Services
Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding.
Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".
Human (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
Mouse (at least 90% immunogen sequence identity)
Western blot (1 - 5 µg/ml)
ELISA (1:10000 - 1:100000)
Specificity and Use
SLC16A2 / MCT8 antibody was raised against a 19 amino acid peptide sequence within the cytoplasmic, C-terminus of human MCT8 (KLH coupled). Species Sequence Homology: mouse 94%, human 84% and rat 89% MCT8. The immunogen shows no significant sequence homology with other MCTs.
Recognizes human Monocarboxylate Transporter 8 (MCT8/XPCT).
SLC16A2 / MCT8 is an integral membrane protein that functions as a transporter of thyroid hormone. The encoded protein facilitates the cellular importation of thyroxine (T4), triiodothyronine (T3), reverse triiodothyronine (rT3) and diidothyronine (T2). This gene is expressed in many tissues and likely plays an important role in the development of the central nervous system.
