Rhodopsin / RHO antibody was raised against membrane preparation from adult rat retina. MW of Antigen: 39kD. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic.
Recognizes a protein of 39kD identified as rat rhodopsin (opsin). Specifically labels the axons and synaptic pedicles of the rods. Species cross-reactivity: human and mouse.
Useful in studies of photoreceptor cells. Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 1-2 ug/ml for 2 hours at RT. Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:25-1:50 for 60 minutes at RT. Staining of formalin fixed tissue sections requires boiling the tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. Positive control: Brain or retina.
PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% Sodium Azide, 0.2% BSA
Short term: 4°C; Long term: Add glycerol (40-50%) -20°C.
