  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

RETN / Resistin antibody was raised against a 14-aa peptide sequence near the N-terminus of mouse resistin (KLH).
Recognizes mouse resistin. No significant sequence was found with RELMs. Species sequence homology: rat 76%, human 35%.
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Western Blot: 1-5 ug/ml using Chemiluminescence technique. Resistin is ~9kD. ELISA: 1:10000-1:100000 using 50-100 ng of control peptide/well.

PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% sodium azide, 40% glycerol.
Long term: -20°C; Short term: +4°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

RETN / Resistin belongs to the family defined by the mouse resistin-like genes. The characteristic feature of this family is the C-terminal stretch of 10 cys residues with identical spacing. The mouse homolog of this protein is secreted by adipocytes, and may be the hormone potentially linking obesity to type II diabetes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
