Specificity and Use
RAD51 / RECA antibody was raised against purified human RAD51 protein.
This antibody recognizes the human RAD51 protein. It can be used to analyze the role of the hRAD51 protein in genetic recombination. Reactivity is confirmed with Hela cells via Western blot analysis. Some cross reactivity has been observed in calf and pig.
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Western Blot: 1-3 ug/ml. Immunoprecipitation: 10 ug/IP Reaction.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the RAD51 protein family. RAD51 family members are highly similar to bacterial RecA and Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad51, and are known to be involved in the homologous recombination and repair of DNA. This protein can interact with the ssDNA-binding protein RPA and RAD52, and it is thought to play roles in homologous pairing and strand transfer of DNA.
