  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

ITGB4 / Integrin Beta 4 antibody was raised against tSP-180 purified from Balb/c murine carcinoma.
Recognizes mouse integrin beta 4 (CD104), a 200kD glycoprotein that can associate with integrin alpha 6 (CD49f) to form a heterodimer on the cell surface. Expression of CD104 is localized to the basal region of a wide variety of epithelial cells. In mice, CD104 is also expressed on peripheral neurons, carcinoma cell lines and a subset of endothelial cells. The alpha 6 beta 4 (CD49f/CD104) integrin has been identified as a component of hemidesmosomes in stratified squamous epithelium where it plays an important role in the adhesion of epithelia to basement membrane. Studies suggest that the CD49f/CD104 integrin is involved in cell matrix adhesion but expression of the CD49f/CD104 integrin in endothelial cells is thought to have a different function.
The applications listed have been tested for the base form of this product. Alternate forms, such as conjugated, azide-free, or ready-to-use, have not been tested. Flow Cytometry: Use 10 ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in 100 ul Method sheets are available on request.

Integrins are heterodimers comprised of alpha and beta subunits, that are noncovalently associated transmembrane glycoprotein receptors. Different combinations of alpha and beta polypeptides form complexes that vary in their ligand-binding specificities. Integrins mediate cell-matrix or cell-cell adhesion, and transduced signals that regulate gene expression and cell growth. This gene encodes the integrin beta 4 subunit, a receptor for the laminins.
