Specificity and Use
Rat pheochromocytoma PC12 cells.
Directed against rat integrin a1b1 (VLA-1). Specificity was confirmed by ability to immunoprecipitate alpha1 (Mr~200kD) and beta1 (Mr~120kD) from 125I-surface labeled PC12 cells as well as reciprocal depletion of VLA-1 antigen from cell lysate with antiserum against the cytoplasmic domain of a1 integrin subunit. Does not inhibit VLA-1 mediated adhesion to matrix proteins. Species cross-reactivity: Rat.
Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation of VLA-1 integrin from detergent cell lysates, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry. Not recommended for Western Blot. Immunoprecipitation: 2 ug/1E6 cell equivalent (Detergent cell lysates). Flow Cytometry: 10 ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry: 20 ug/ml. Detects VLA-1 in acetone-fixed frozen tissue sections from gut, heart and lungs.
