Interferon beta (IFNB1), acting via STAT1 and STAT2, upregulates and downregulates a wide variety of genes, most of which are involved in the antiviral immune response. Most IFN responses are induced by the presence of dsRNA, but both DNA and RNA viruses are sensitive to the effects of IFN-beta.

Family/Subfamily: | Interferon , not assigned-Interferon |
Synonyms: | IFNB1, IFF, IFB, IFNB, Interferon beta, Interferon, beta 1, fibroblast, Fibroblast interferon, IFN-beta |
