  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Recombinant human hexokinase 1 (1-917aa) purified from E. coli.
Recognizes Hexokinase 1, a 102kD major allosteric enzyme of the glycolytic pathway, which catalyses the phosphorylation of glucose to form glucose-6-phosphate (Glc-6-P). Hexokinase 1 is the first of four distinct mammalian hexokinase isozymes (hexokinase type I to IV), which is expressed in the outer membrane of mitochondria and is regulated (inhibited) by its product Glc-6-P. A deficiency in hexokinase 1 is implicated in the rare hereditary autosomal recessive disease known as nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia.
Western Blot: LS-C45028 detects a band of approximately 102kD in HepG2 cell lysates.

PBS, pH 7.4, 0.09% sodium azide.
4°C or -20°C, Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose-6-phosphate, the first step in most glucose metabolism pathways. This gene encodes a ubiquitous form of hexokinase which localizes to the outer membrane of mitochondria. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hemolytic anemia due to hexokinase deficiency. Alternative splicing of this gene results in five transcript variants which encode different isoforms, some of which are tissue-specific.
