Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

FKBP38 / FKBP8 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide C-KLEPSNKTIHAELSK from an internal region of human FKBP8 / FKBP38 (NP_036313.3). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Monkey, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Hamster, Elephant, Panda, Dog, Bat, Bovine, Horse, Pig, Xenopus, Salmon, Stickleback, Zebrafish (100%); Opossum (93%); Gibbon (80%).

aa335-349
Human FKBP8 / FKBP38.
Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 28kD band in Human Brain (Frontal Cortex) and Rat Brain lysates after 1 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 44.6kD according to NP_036313.3. The 28kD band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies / lysates? Have any further splice variants / modified forms been reported?

About FKBP38 / FKBP8

Q14318 NM_012181 NP_036313.3

FKBP8 Antibody, 38 kDa FKBP Antibody, 38 kDa FK506-binding protein Antibody, FKBP-8 Antibody, FK506-binding protein 8 Antibody, FKBP38 Antibody, HFKBP38 Antibody, FKBP-38 Antibody, Rotamase Antibody, FK506 binding protein 8, 38kDa Antibody, FK506-binding protein 8 (38kD) Antibody, FKBPr38 Antibody, PPIase FKBP8 Antibody

Constitutively inactive PPiase, which becomes active when bound to calmodulin and calcium. Seems to act as a chaperone for BCL2, targets it to the mitochondria and modulates its phosphorylation state. The BCL2/FKBP8/calmodulin/calcium complex probably interferes with the binding of BCL2 to its targets. The active form of FKBP8 may therefore play a role in the regulation of apoptosis.
