FCAR / CD89 antibody was raised against recombinant soluble human Fc alpha R.
Recognizes the human CD89 cell surface antigen, a 50-75kD cell surface glycoprotein that is also known as the IgA receptor (Fc alpha R). CD89 is expressed by peripheral blood monocytes and neutrophils. 3H1742 blocks binding of IgA to the Fc alpha R and also inhibits neutrophil phagocytosis of IgA complexes. The preservative free format of this antibody is recommended for functional studies.

FCAR / CD89 is a member of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily and encodes a receptor for the Fc region of IgA. The receptor is a transmembrane glycoprotein present on the surface of myeloid lineage cells such as neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and eosinophils, where it mediates immunologic responses to pathogens.
