  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Dehydroepiandrosterone conjugated to Bovine Serum Albumin.
Recognizes Dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEAS) and exhibits the following cross reactivies with related hormones and derivatives: DHEA, 69%; 5-alpha-Androstendione, 5.3%; 5 Androstendione, 3.6%; 4 Androstendione, 2.3; Androstendione, 3.0%; Testosterone, <0.3%; Androstendiol, <0.4%; Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a steroid hormone produced from cholesterol and secreted by several organs including the adrenal glands. It is the precursor of male and female sex hormones (androgens and estrogens). DHEAS is the sulphated version of DHEA. This conversion is reversibly catalyzed by sulphotransferase primarily in the adrenals, the liver, and small intestines. In the blood, most DHEA is found as DHEAS with levels that are about 300 times higher than free DHEA.

PBS, 0.09% sodium azide.

About DHEAS / DHEA Sulfate

Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate is produced by the addition of a sulfate group, catalyzed by the sulfotransferase enzymes SULT1A1 and SULT1E1, which also produce estrone sulfate from estrone. DHEA sulfate can also be back-converted to DHEA through the action of steroid sulfatase. In the zona reticularis layer of the adrenal cortex, DHEA-sulfate is generated by SULT2A1. This layer of the adrenal cortex is thought to be the primary source of serum DHEA-sulfate.
