  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

HeLa cell cytoskeleton preparation.
Recognizes a unique epitope shared by the intermediate filament keratins, cytokeratin 7 and cytokeratin 17, a 54kD type II basic cytokeratin, and 46kD type I acidic cytokeratin respectively. Cytokeratins are located in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissues and their neoplasms, including the lungs, ovary and breast. Each keratin filament consists of at least one type I and one type II keratin chain, which then assemble to form a cytoskeletal network, extending from the surface of the nucleus to the cell membrane. The expression of a particular type of cytokeratin depends mainly on the type of epithelium and the development stage of the cell, including its corresponding malignant state. Immunohistochemical analysis of cytokeratin profiles is therefore a valuable tool for diagnosis and characterization, and this particular antibody could be useful for the evaluation of some stratified epithelia which express cytokeratin 17, but not cytokeratin 7. Reported as suitable for use in immunocytochemistry.
Western Blot: LS-C58267 detects bands of approximately 54kD and 46kD in HeLa cytoskeleton cell lysates under reducing conditions. Immunohistology: This product requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections using pepsin prior to staining.
