  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Collagen I antibody was raised against human Collagen Type I.
Recognizes both native and heat denatured human collagen type I. No cross-reactivity with albumin fractions of human serum or albumins of other animal species. Less than 5% binding to collagens II and III in ELISA, RIA or immunoblotting.
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Does not work with Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry: 10-20 ug/ml. Formaldehyde fixation is not recommended. Not suitable for use on paraffin embedded sections. Staining of 10um thick cryostat sections fixed with acetone or ethanol. Staining is similar to that for polyclonal antibodies to interstitial collagen I. ELISA: Apparent binding constant from titration curves is approximately 0.1nM. Suitable for use in sandwich ELISA for specific determination of collagen I, employed as either a.

Lyophilized powder. No preservative added. Reconstitute, 1 ml sterile 40-50% glycerol, dH2O.
100 µl Sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O

About Collagen I

Type I collagen is the most abundant collagen of the human body which forms large, eosinophilic fibers known as collagen fibers. It is present in scar tissue, the end product when tissue heals by repair, as well as tendons, ligaments, the endomysium of myofibrils, the organic part of bone, the dermis, the dentin and organ capsules. Collagen, type I, alpha 1, also known as alpha-1 type I collagen, is encoded by the COL1A1 gene. Collagen alpha-2(I) chain is encoded by the COL1A2 gene.
