Specificity and Use
CHRDL2 antibody was raised against the epitope recognized maps to a region between residues 200 and 250 of human breast tumor novel factor 1 using the numbering given in TrEMBL entry Q7Z5J3 (GeneID 25884).
Species cross-reactivity: Human. Other species have not been tested. Reactivity with mouse BNF1 is unlikely owing to divergence of sequence between this ortholog and human BNF1 at the site to which the epitope maps.

CHRDL2 is a member of the chordin family of proteins. Chordin family members are secreted proteins that share a cysteine-rich pro-collagen repeat domain and associate with members of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily. In vitro assays demonstrate a direct interaction between the encoded protein and human activin A. This gene is expressed in many tissues including osteoblasts, where it is differentially expressed during differentiation.
