Specificity and Use

L2 and other serovar groups.
Recognizes purified, disrupted EBs of Chlamydia trachomatis. Cross-reacts with Chlamydia psittacii alpha Chlamydia pneumoniae (TWAR). Negative vs. HEp-2 cells and egg yolk sac.
Suitable for use in Indirect Immunofluorescence, Conjugation. May be used in place of neat antiserum in most antibody-based technique. Indirect Immunofluorescence: 1:1000-1:3000 (Against all serovars (A-K, L1-L3).

Packaging

About Chlamydia trachomatis

Chlamydia trachomatis, an obligate intracellular human pathogen, is one of four bacterial species in the genus Chlamydia. C. trachomatis includes three human biovars: serovars Ab, B, Ba, or C cause trachoma: infection of the eyes, which can lead to blindness; serovars D-K cause urethritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, neonatal pneumonia, and neonatal conjunctivitis; serovars L1, L2 and L3 cause ymphogranuloma venereum (LGV).
