CDK11A / CDC2L2 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to an epitope within amino acid residues 730-780 of human Cdk11 (GeneID 985).
Recognizes human Cdk11 (cyclin-dependent kinase 11), otherwise known as CDC2L2, a ubiquitously expressed member of the p34cdc2 protein kinase family involved in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis, and linked with tumorigenesis. Three major isoforms of Cdk11 identified are the full length gene product Cdk11p110 and the shorter polypeptides Cdk11p58 and Cdk11p46. Cdk11p110 is a component of RNA polymerase II containing complexes involved in transcriptional regulation, and is implicated in pre-mRNA splicing through interaction with the splicing factor RNPS1 (RNA-binding protein with serine-rich domain 1). Cdk11p58 has been linked with mitosis, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, and recently implicated as a negative regulator of the androgen receptor (AR) as part of a cyclin D3/ Cdk11p58 complex. Cdk11p46 arises from the cleavage of Cdk11p110 and Cdk11p58 by caspases following the induction of apoptosis, and is linked with apoptotic progression.
